So I Got Into Illuminati Conspiracies and They Are Foolish
Bloodlines of the Illuminati by Fritz Springmeier is a staple of the world of conspiracy theoriests. What seem like it would be an interest book about how a few select families have ancestors spanning thousands of years and hold hierarchical positions with Satan. Unfortunately it's an uninteresting book that's 292 pages long where most paragraph is a separate thought without a connection to the previous paragraphs written. The format of the book as each chapter is a new article on a newsletter, which makes each chapter able to stand alone but these newslettere do not work while with each other. The book claims that 13 families that run the Illuminati but as the book goes on, the book lists 17 families, and sometimes it is old tropes like the Rockefellers or the Rothschilds but sometimes these families are comical like the McDonald's, Disney, and the inventor of the Todd Collins drink.
Bloodlines was written in 1995 as a PDF file but did not get turned into a book until 1998. It would remain relatively quiet while the book’s author Springmeier served a prison sentence for armed robbery. After his release, Springmeier began to make appearances on the Alex Jones Show. InfoWars began to sell the book on their website. While looking for this book, I found a copy of the book signed by Jones and Springmeier for sale at $4444.44, which is a deliberate angelic number. I am not buying that. Ironically, the easiest place to get a copy of the Bloodlines is from the CIA's website.
A fair amount of things that Springmeier covers are real. The Illuminati was an 18th century secret society that rivaled the Free Masons in Europe that had disbanned when it was declared illegal. I assure you that whatever Springmeier is discribing is not the Illuminati. Instead he describes a few families that have large fortunes and wealth while trying desperately to connect them all to Satanic beliefs. Springmeier's research is looking through a 1990’s library catalog and attempting to find any matches with a surname.
The first listed family is the Astor family starting with John Jacob Astor. Springmeier acknowledges that Astor was a German Protestant however Springmeier also manufacturers a claim that Astor was hiding his Jewish ancestry, something I could not confirm because I am almost certain that Springmeier made it up. John Jacob Astor became one of the wealthiest men during the early years of the United States because of his real estate empire in New York City while serving a lodgemaster of the Free Masons. With what should be a feel good story inside the lore of American free enterprise about a German immigrant becoming one of the richest men, Springmeier argues that super rich families uses “Monopoly Capitalism” to crush free enterprise. The idealogy is an Ourboros of that demands that capitalists be free of government intrusion while at the same time blaming the failures of capitalism because individuals were able to acquisition high amounts of wealth without government intrusion.
The second family is the Bundy family. Not the Bundy's involved in armed stand-offs in Nevada and Oregon in the 2000’s but a collection of famous people with a list of Bundys that don't seem to be related. Serial killer Ted Bundy is given as an example as member of the Bundy family. An odd thing to consider when Ted Bundy was adopted and isn't part of the Bundy bloodline. Springmeier makes the claim that he couldn't do all the reading needed because the books on Ted Bundy were checked out at his local library in Portland.
The third family on his list is the Collins family. While reading the book I thought that Springmeier was using the alphabet as a mnemonic device. Springmeier admits that the Collins family is not well known and cites Joan Collins who is immediately points out that she is Jewish. If this is a claim that Jewish people control Hollywood, then Springmeier greatly misses the mark with suggesting that its Joan pulling the strings in the background. In this book, Springmeier claims to have only done 10% of his the research on the Collins family. Grasping for straws with any person with the last name Collins, I am little surprised that Phil Collins is not mentioned, is In The Air Tonight occult?
Keeping with the alphabet theme, the fourth family is the DuPont family. Springmeier claims to have found all the esoteric knowledge about that family from a 1942 book about the DuPont family that the DuPont company donated to his local library. Springmeier claims that information of the family is hard to come by but in reality he is citing information that the DuPont company is attempting to make more publicly available. I expected more dark stories about the DuPont corporation with lead-ins like “Company used as tool to lead to new world order” but I was just reading stories about company training videos.
Finally breaking away from the alphabet structure, the Freeman family is the fifth family mentioned. Two key component in this chapter is that the head of the family was Banker Gaylord Freeman (great name by the way) and the Prieure de Sion (Priory of Sion) which was a secret society that manufactured its own history and put out works of fiction that would inspire (and sue) the book The Da Vinci Code. That's right! Springmeier got fooled by a hoax or an elaborate Altered Reality Game. To be specific, he treats the book The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail as journalism… Guess what? Lots of antisemitism in this chapter because the Anti-Defamation League Director of Legal Affairs is Stephen Freeman. Springmeier description of the ADL as a “dangerous organization controlled by the hierarchy.” Surprisingly, I looked up Freeman and he still has the same job after 30 years.
Next up the Kennedy family, yes that Kennedy family. In today's climate of anti-vaxxers getting into Robert Kennedy Jr and Q Anon believer waiting for the return of JFK Jr, it seems impossible to list this family as part of a Satanic Cabal that has magical blood descendants from Satan. The juicy bit from this section of the book includes the theory that Anton Lavey set John Fitzgerald Kennedy with his girlfriends. With conspiracy theorists hoping to get inspiration from this book, it is imperative that they never acknowledge this chapter. Speaking of which, Springmeier claims that other famous Kennedy’s that are not related to JFK are actually related to him but researchers need to go back hundreds of years, something Springmeier obviously did no do.
Moving onto the Li family which is the first and only group of non-Europeans descendant. Honestly I checked out and did not bother to put much effort in reading this part because Springmeier did not put much effort in writing it. Two examples of the Li family’s descendants were Li Peng who was China's Premier and Lee Kwan Yew who was Singapore's Prime Minister.
Next up is the Onassis family, and I am glad that this is just a call back to the only good part of book, Kennedy conspiracies. Springmeier suggests that JFK as President had always been manipulated by the Aristotle Onassis (Onassis also manipulated Howard Hughes, who somehow emerges in this story as the billionaire fighting the Illuminati) Onassis was the one who made the decision that JFK had to be assassinated because JFK was fighting “the elites” and “ran off with his woman” like a villain from James Bond.
Midway through the book and I expect the things to start heating up with the Rockefeller family. I expect this to be easy for Springmeier. Just say that John Rockefeller uses his Illuminati mind control techniques and shadow cabel to create an oil monopoly and transform him into the wealthiest man in mordern history, then use the Rockefeller Foundation bring out an age of eugenics… that's what a person who actually did some research would write, but yet again Springmeier goes a completely different direction. What should be an easy slam dunk in condeming capitalists gaining a monopoly and contributing to the rise of the Nazi party, instead Springmeier is mainly interested in finding ways of linking the Rockefellers to anti-Christian causes.
What might be the most influential chapter of the book is the Rothschilds family. This might be the only chapter that Alex Jones as actually read any part of it and committed to memory. Antisemitism tropes and false stories about the family are regularly used on Jones' show from this book. One such conspiracy is that the family profited of the Napoleonic Wars which is also derived from the Nazi propaganda film Die Rothschilds. Another conspiracy is the quote from Amsel Rothschild “Give me control of the economics of a country; and I care not who makes her laws” which is something that no Rothschild has ever said that and possibly made up by Springmeier. This has so far been the largest chapter in the book and the reader gets hit over the head repeatedly about how the Rothschilds are Jewish as an indictment of their character.

The grand final and about a quarter of the book is the Disney family. Springmeier does not claim that Walt Disney has descended from a mythological bloodline but instead claims that the Disney corporation was used a Illuminati mind control. Disney was the front man that “Jewish movie makers” pushed to the front. Disney mocks the Holy Trinity by making movies like The Three Caballeros and 3 Ninja Kick Back. There is over 10 pages giving a minute by minute description of the movie Fantasia, not a strong note to end on. Springmeier wants the reader to believe that Disney uses CIA techniques to psychology control the population which is something I could believe with the existence of Disney adults but the material I have to work with is “look at these occult themes in The Black Cauldron.”
If you have read through this and think that Bloodlines of the Illuminati would be a fun and interesting read, then I have failed in this review. This entire book fails to hold consistent thoughts, throws names at the reader with no regard, and just isn't good. I thought it would be fun to go through the ridiculous claims but quickly that became a wet noodle of names of members of the Free Masons and suspicions of any Jewish person with power.
After reading the book I wanted to find out what where Fritz Springmeier current activies. He had not appeared on Infowars in years and I tracked him down by finding him making appearances on other people's YouTube channels. His beliefs in the Illuminati had not changed until I was taken back on how he took a stance the war in Ukraine. Speingmeier took the stance that both sides are aligned with Illuminati forces but he took a shot at unnamed people who support Putin and the channel host chimed in that some of the Putin supporters get large cryptocurrency payments. Based on those comments, I can assume that Springmeier and Alex Jones have split apart and do not work together anymore.
What's the lesson to learn from all of this? I say, believe in something worth striving. Spending your career in crafting stories at an imaginary enemy might be fun but that is not setting the motion to live in a better world. Make sure that if you are using your imagination, use it to imagine a better world worth living. Otherwise you might turn out to be like Fritz Springmeier.
Great review. I read Springmeier's book on the CIA gov website. I was confused as to why it was on that site. But talk about connecting dots from unconnected dots. That's what the conspiracy theorists do. Proof and logic are not their forte. They don't call this pastime "going down the rabbit hole" for nothing. They have tunnel vision and very hard heads and will employ any fabrication available to promote their agenda. And to think, this all started with the irrational religious hatred of the early Christians, which is basically what antisemitism is. I would only suggest a proofing for typos.
